Bio

JD Roberto is a two-time Emmy nominated TV personality, writer, director, and producer. JD is currently the host of BATTLE OF THE AGES, a new family-oriented game show on BYUtv. He is also Executive Producer and Host of the ground breaking DAILY BURN 365 (Emmy® nomination) – where he's helping lead a revolution in fitness and digital streaming. . You can also find him streaming the latest in tech, outdoor, and kitchen gear on AMAZON LIVE. JD was also host of the nationally syndicated THE BETTER SHOW (Emmy® nomination), a daily lifestyle program bringing culture, entertainment, parenting, lifestyle, cooking and design to millions of homes across the country, five days a week.

JD was best known to Reality TV aficionados as host of ABC’s How To Get The Guy, the hit relationship show Outback Jack (TBS), Discovery Channel’s Alaskan Adventure Challenge, the much talked about Are You Hot? as well as the behind the scenes sensation American Idol Extra and Reality Remix for the Fox Reality Channel.

Music lovers know JD as the Webby® Award winning host of SONG POP LIVE a daily, app-based music game show based on the wildly popular music trivia app.

JD had the honor of kicking off Season 39 of The Price is Right with Drew Carey when he was asked to spend a month as Guest Star announcer - inviting audience members to "Come On Down!" and be part of TV history. You can hear JD as announcer on The Pyramid, a GSN incarnation of the classic game show and as the voice of Blue Collar Auction starring Bill Engvall.

Game show fans also know him from the long running game show Shop ‘Til You Drop, Animal Planet's You Lie Like a Dog, the competition cooking show Food Fight on the Food Network and the scavenger hunt game show Cut To The Chase for TBS. JD has also been a regular guest host for E! News Live.

JD has numerous Film and TV acting appearances to his credit, including Frasier, All My Children, Passions, General Hospital, The Mask of Zorro, ‘Til Night, Nautilus, Family Matters, Step by Step and a recurring role on The New Adventures of Robin Hood. His theatre credits include performances at New York's Theatre for the New City, SoHo Rep, Playwrights Horizons, The Metropolitan Opera and on the West Coast at The Laguna Playhouse, where he played the title role in the critically acclaimed production of Picasso at the Lapin Agile.


A prolific and opinionated writer about everything from travel to politics to parenting, JD's work has been featured in the Los Angeles Times, The Huffington Post, Parents Magazine, the Bump, LA Parent Magazine and his travel writing has been featured on Discovery Channel's award-winning World Hum web site. JD has written a number of film scripts for hire and his screenplay, "Heavy Water" was a top 10 finalist in Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope Screenwriting Competition.

JD is also an ordained minister, a SCUBA dive master and an EMT in both California and New York State.

JD holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree in Acting (with honors) from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a Master of Fine Arts in Play and Screenwriting from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver School of Film and Television.
